Unrated “I Spit On Your Grave” heading to select theaters
I Spit On Your Grave tells the story of a beautiful woman from the city, Jennifer Hills (Sarah Butler), who rents an isolated cabin in the country to write her latest novel. Soon, a group of local lowlifes subject Jennifer to a nightmare of degradation, rape and violence. Left for dead, she returns for vengeance. Trapping her male attackers one-by-one, she inflicts acts of physical torment upon them with ferocity as the victim becomes the victor.
“We are thrilled to be releasing the unrated, uncensored version of the new I Spit On Your Grave,” says Bill Clark, president of Anchor Bay Entertainment. “Steven R. Monroe has brought his own remarkable vision to this cult classic and we are certain that the unrated cut will, like the original, evoke a visceral reaction from audiences worldwide.”

'I Spit On Your Grave's' Sarah Butler saw role as empowering to women
When Sarah Butler, star of the remake of “I Spit On Your Grave,” first read the script, she didn't want the part. “I was shocked and full of objections,” she said Wednesday night after the low-budget horror movie's premiere in Hollywood.
Then her manager at the time, who usually was very protective and against any role with nudity and violence, said she should do this movie. “He said you really need to strip down the layers, like all this violence, and look at what this really is,” said Butler. “This is a huge, brave meaty role that you can really flex your muscles in. You're going to be so bad ass, you've got to do this.”
So instead of viewing the part as exploitive, disgusting and promoting violence against women, she saw it as a female empowerment role in which the woman wins out in the end. “The more I thought about it,” she said, “the more pumped up I got.”

I Spit on Your Grave Synopsis
Controversial 1979 cult classic, I Spit on Your Grave. Novel horrific story writer Jennifer Hills, which takes the retreat from the city to the charming cottage in the woods to begin her next book. But the presence of Jennifer in a small town attracts the attention of the local population and some who were morally set for one night to teach this girl a lesson the city.
